So I found your book on my first trip to Savannah. I was about to leave the bookstore, Eshavers, a lovely well curated store with a big fluffy cat asleep in the front window, when I saw your book. I quickly skimmed the opening essay as I could feel my legs were weakening and added it to my pile. I'm so glad I did!
Kind of? I've never published a book, but I've worked as a journalist on and off since college as well as being a freelance writer for various websites (usually providing reviews of cult and horror movies). For a very long time, starting in 2002, I had a blog where I wrote about my life. I've been looking to get back into that recently.
Speaking of serendipity (which is one of my favorite children's books-gotta love a pollution hating sea monster), Diary of an Emotional Idiot made such a huge impact on me. I read it when I was in grad school at NYU so it was wonderful to see you mention Maggie Estep in your work!
Oh, yes! The classic writer's response to being asked if they write. A "kind of" or "a little" or "sometimes" followed by a long list of accomplishments. Hah. Let me know if you restart a blog.
Congrats! So happy to see this out in the world.
Thank you, Melissa!
See you on the zoom Sunday!
Hurrah! I'm so glad you'll be with us.
Yay! See you Sunday!
Yes!
Congratulations! I'm out of town working, but enjoy your signing this weekend.
Thank you, Sara!
Looking forward to Sunday 🙏
I'm so glad you'll be there, Nazie!

This is a wonderful story of bookstores and serendipity! Thanks for telling me and for your support of my writing. Are you a writer?
